Bravo.
They put some beautiful stuff in that front window as a long tease pre opening. They pretty much delivered. A dark stained, old timey feel.
Does not really go the distance — lacks the all-vintage sourcing and attentively distressed everything look of a place like the gastropub champs.
But they do have lots of brass and a real marble bar. Sweet.
Food and drink at 4pm on Sunday were not on their full display, but the stuff sampled was solid. American craft ale cuisine might capture the menu. All organic and farm to table sourcing.
The tomato and basil soup was tasty, but perhaps a bit sharp. The BLT could have used more B, but good and the fries were yummy oil-sodden accompaniment. Beet and goat cheese salad was surprisingly good with pistachio. So a pretty good kitchen we thought.
And it felt pretty inexpensive. 10-15$ per main item.
