The resurrection of Team M. Wells isn’t the only red hot restaurant excitement going down in Long Island City, Queens. Tipsters report and a visit today confirms that Corner Bistro, the West Village burger legend and late night destination, has opened its promised LIC outpost. It opened just over a week ago and already one local is griping about the “stale/reheated” fries and the burger’s lack of character compared to nearby favorite Tournesol while a Yelper blames complaints on “an otherwise pretentious LIC crowd.”
Meanwhile, Petey’s, the Astoria burger spot, opened a new location close by at 46-46 Vernon Boulevard pretty much at the same time as Corner. LIC residents may not be able to eat in a catamaran factory just yet, but at least they have some cheap burger options.
