IRENE NICKOLAI
Prudential Douglas Elliman announce that the boutique real estate firm Stratus Realty Group has joined the company as the Nickolai Group.
The team, led by Irene Nickolai, will be based out of Elliman’s 1995 Broadway Office.
“The Nickolai Group has a powerful international reach,” says Prudential Douglas Elliman President and CEO Dottie Herman. “They are highly marketable, modern and tech savvy. The group will be great asset to the company and we are so pleased that they are joining Elliman.”
Founded in TriBeCa by Irene Nickolai in 2008, Stratus Realty Group grew substantially with agents stationed all over the world including Miami, Moscow, Monaco and London. Their extensive property list spans from the United States and the Caribbean to locations across Western and Eastern Europe.
“Stratus Realty Group has spent the past several years developing an international database of properties and clients,” Nickolai says.
“We have created a one-of-a-kind entity serving high-end commercial and residential real estate. The team brings numerous languages and multiple decades of experience as well as the world’s most unique properties. We’re thrilled to be joining one of the most successful and respected brokers in New York. Not to mention – it’s inspiring to be surrounded by so many successful women in the industry.”
A former Chelsea gallery owner, Nickolai started her real estate career ten years ago as the Marketing Director at New York Business Group. She moved on to become Vice President at New York Commercial Realty where she honed her skills before forming Stratus Realty Group of which she was principal broker and President.
Nickolai handpicked her agents for their varied backgrounds and talents. Her team includes: Angela Barbado who focuses on Brooklyn hotspots such as Bushwick, Bedford Stuyvesant and Crown Heights, Robert Knafo who specializes in commercial leasing and building sales, Martin Holland who worked with some of the largest global real estate managers – bringing his knowledge and experience of commercial transactions and capital markets. Nickolai has also built up a strong international business development network.
In New York, team members are currently working with clients to bring the first LEED Certified boutique hotel and restaurant to New York’s Flatiron district, and a European-style hostel to Williamsburg; advising several international investors on small-to-medium residential conversion purchases; and closing on the sale of a $2.5M commercial building in Long Island City.
