Forest Park Carousel – open! – pics!

Kiddie pleasuredome open after a 6 year hiatus.  This thing is legit! Old world crafted animals and spangles. More than legit — 100 year old wood carved by a German emigre master.  $3/ride.  Plus a clown every Saturday at 2 and 4.  It is open from 11-7 on weekends. The best Greek: Taverna Kyclades

ONE of the best. Always a long line. Perhaps not in Astoria but Steinway. but gosh darn delicious. 33rd st and Ditmars. Drive of you can. Menu is calamari, peasant salad, saganaki, spanakopita. Lots of promising fish dishes too. See the full gallery on Posterous
