Crab Boil
Back Forty kicks off their annual Chesapeake Crab Boil season, hosting weekly Tuesday dinners through August. Get a pile of spiced blue crabs,
potatoes, string beans, and seasonal fruit cobblers for dessert. ($45, reserve in advance).
7th Annual Taste of LIC
The celebration of Long Island City’s culinary culture, sample food and beverages from more than 50 local restaurants will be offered. Participants include Manhattan Beer Distributors, M. Herring Festival at Grand Central Oyster Bar
Wednesday marks the beginning the Herring Festival, which will run until June 30. The herring is flown in daily from the Netherland. Everything will be fresh. The Grand Central Oyster Bar will be receiving the first shipments of herring in the United States.

Men’s Health Cooking School
In celebration of the June food issue, Men’s Health is hosting its first-ever cooking School. four of New York’s chefs–Sullivan Street Bakery’s Jim Lahey, Tertulia‘s Seamus Mullen, Kin Shop‘s Harold Dieterle and ABC Kitchen‘s Dan Kluger–will teach classes at this one-day seminar, designed to help participants master the ultimate arsenal of cooking skills. The event will culminate with a “graduation party” in the evening with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres inspired by the renowned Cooking School chefs. Classes are from 1:30 – 7pm. $40 per class or $120 for an all-inclusive day pass. Register here.
Big Apple Barbecue Block Party
