Kris Humphries apparently doesn’t know how to end relationships amicably.
In the middle of a heated divorce from Kim Kardashian, Humphries is tangling with former girlfriend Myla Sinanaj.
Recently, Humphries turned over evidence to the FBI detailing how Sinanaj tried to extort him, demanding money to keep quiet about secrets from their relationship.
Sinanaj fired back an ultimatum Tuesday via her attorney Joe Tacopina: Either Humphries apologizes or she will file a lawsuit for slander, TMZ reports.
“I defy them to show that she has asked for one red cent,” Tacopina told TMZ. “I challenge them to submit Kris Humphries to a polygraph and if he does, I will have my client do the same. She never asked him for a penny.”
This is so much better than a soap opera.
Tacopina said Humphries wanted to hide his relationship with Sinanaj because he feared how it would affect his divorce proceedings.
Yes, it’s always a pain when the new girlfriend gets in the way of a potentially lucrative divorce settlement.
Arquette, Cox are divorcing
David Arquette officially filed for divorce last Friday, ending a stalemate with wife Courteney Cox.
The actor cited “irreconcilable differences.” He is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, Coco, 8. There is no request for spousal or child support.
Arquette, 40, and Cox, 41, announced their separation
in October 2010. Sticking with their wait-and-see pattern, Arquette signed the divorce papers on March 23 but didn’t file them in Los Angeles Superior Court for almost three months. He then got out of town, traveling to Israel for his bar mitzvah at the Western Wall on Monday.
News of the filing leaked Tuesday on the couple’s 13th anniversary.
While Cox remains single, Arquette has bounced in and out of a relationship with Entertainment Tonight reporter Christina McLarty. Despite the separation, the couple are publicly friendly.
“He’s my favorite person in the world,” she told People magazine in January. “He’s my best friend. No matter what happens in our future, he’s my very best friend.”
Richards sends Sambora packing
Denise Richards has given Richie Sambora the boot — maybe even for good this time.
That is, unless she changes her mind. Again.
Richards, 41, and Sambora, 52, had their latest breakup last week after engaging in a screaming match while in Nashville for the CMT Awards, Celebuzz reports.
The very public argument at Hermitage Hotel focused on Sambora’s dislike of Richards’ close relationship with former husband, Charlie Sheen.
“He asked her to stop having contact with Sheen,” a source told E! Online. “They have two children together. How can she not be in touch with him?”
Richards and Sambora have teeter-tottered through a relationship for five years. But a source close to Richards told E! Online that the actress is fed up with the drama. “She’s had enough drama to last her a lifetime.”
Phillips on mend, will tour
“American Idol” champion Phillip Phillips is on the mend less than a week after having kidney surgery.
The 21-year-old singer underwent a seven-hour operation June 6 to remove kidney stones that troubled him for much of the “Idol” competition. He checked out of the hospital Sunday afternoon, his reps told the Hollywood Reporter.
Phillips postponed surgery until after the “Idol” season so he could challenge Jessica Sanchez in the May 23 finale. Reports surfaced later that he quietly underwent eight surgeries during the show to treat the kidney stone buildup.
On July 6, Phillips is scheduled to embark with the “Idol” cast on a 45-date U.S. tour, which starts in Detroit. The tour stops at Sacramento’s Power Balance Pavilion on July 21 and HP Pavilion in San Jose July 22 ($29.50-$63.50, www.ticketmaster.com).
Bryants not over yet
Kobe and Vanessa Bryant aren’t calling their marriage quits just yet.
The basketball star and his wife are working on a reconciliation, reports TMZ.
Vanessa filed for divorce in December. While working out details in the divorce, Kobe reportedly signed over to her deeds to the couple’s three mansions.
Under California law, Vanessa must wait six months before filing documents to finalize the divorce. That deadline hits Monday.
The couple wed in April 2001.
