Real Estate Developer Provides Long Island City Venue for QAX Live Event
New York – Rockrose Development has provided the Queens Council on the Arts with a featured venue for the Queens Art Express 2012, a spring arts festival of performance, events, and exhibitions along the Number 7 subway line.
“What If We Re-made U.S. Economic Policy,” featuring new collaborative work by artists Leslie Alfin, Theresa Byrnes, Chanel Kennebrew, and Toshi Reagon, was performed last week at the Rockrose property at 26-19 Jackson Ave. in Long Island City – a luxury residential development site energizing the dynamic growth of the Court Square neighborhood into a 24-hour community.
As festival organizers described it, “What If We Re-made U.S. Economic Policy,” portrayed “a new world, where artists create a sustainable and equitable economy to the benefit of citizens, businesses and communities. Imagine a world where artists decide public policy.”
Patricia Dunphy, Rockrose Senior Vice President, said, “As a proud member of the Queens business community, we are delighted to co-sponsor and support the four-day-long Queens Art Express festival. Long Island City is the epicenter of a thriving cultural community in Queens.”
Rockrose also arranged for its immensely popular food truck court, located nearby at the parking lot at 43-29 Crescent St., to be open during the event.
Rockrose Development Corp. is the builder and owner of Linc LIC, a new residential complex in the heart of Court Square. The dramatic 42-story tower with 709 luxury rental apartments will be completed and ready for occupancy in spring 2013, and is one of the tallest residential buildings in Queens.
