[Penthouse of the View in Long Island City]
MURRAY HILLA press release hit our inbox announcing that Twenty9th Park Madison is now 100 percent sold, but we’re a bit puzzled by this. Way back in December 2008, it was reported that the 142-unit building was 70 percent sold, and just the 10 penthouses remained on the market. Did it really take four years for them to sell? Perhaps not. StreetEasy shows that most of the penthouses didn’t come on to the market until summer 2009. The most expensive was a 3BR/3BA listed for $4.35 million that sold for $4.17 million. Twenty9th Park Madison never became a Curbed obsession, so we don’t have a detailed record of when and why sales happened, but nevertheless, a hearty congrats for selling out. Long Island CityIn other sales milestones, the View on the LIC waterfront has hit the 90 percent mark. The building made headlines back in November, when the penthouse, the most expensive condo in the neighborhood, went into contract. The place was listed for $3.25 million. There are now only 18 condos remaining in the 184-unit building. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]
