A new weekend market is in the works, and this one is all about Queens. The Long Island City Flea and Food will open in mid-June and run every Saturday and Sunday out of a 24,000-square-foot lot on the corner of 5th Street and 46th Avenue — that should be enough room to hold the 100 vendors they’re planning to secure.
Fork hears that so far, Sergio Garcia and Jennifer Dudek’s local scoop shop Malu Ice Cream, and Gianna Cerbone-Teoli’s Neapolitan restaurant Manducati’s Rustica, are both on board. (While it might sound like it, the market notes that it is not connected to the well-known Brooklyn Flea.)
