Greenpoint’s neighbor to the north now has an exciting new weekend hotspot. Last weekend, Queens’ largest outdoor market, LIC Flea Food, kicked-off on the Long Island City waterfront with 90 plus vendors, live music, scrumptious eats, unique finds, fashion and more.
The market will run every Saturday and Sunday this summer, offering visitors a fun, vibrant weekend destination.
“The grand opening was buzzing with people enjoying all that Long Island City has to offer, including awesome local fare, shopping, and waterfront boardwalk and play areas, said Josh Schneps, Co-Publisher of Schneps Communications and founder of LIC Flea Food. “We are proud to organize the LIC Flea Food, and look forward to a fruitful season boosting visibility of local businesses and community amenities.
Vendors include M. Wells Dinette, Luke’s Lobster, Sweetleaf, Butcher Bar, Steve Tibaudo Bowties, Mitchmallows, DeepCuts, Itizy, Harold Maude Vintage, Alobar Restaurant, Relevant Furniture, JL Farms, Vintage Robot, New Yawk Baking Co., SHOPGRL.COM, The Chocolate Swirl, J.J.’s Asian Fusion, Floresta, Manducatis Rustica, Blend LIC, Horman’s Pickles, and Ice Riders. As a weekend attraction, the market can also be expected to be a source of economic growth for surrounding businesses, as seen at other markets in New York City. LIC Flea Food is within walking distance of the 7, E, M and G trains as well as the LIC East River Ferry stop and conveniently located right by a parking garage on 5th Street. There will also be a bus running back and forth from the ferry to the parking lot on Saturday and Sunday.
