LONG ISLAND CITY – Police are still searching for Avonte Oquendo, the 14-year-old autistic boy who has missing for the past two weeks.
Avonte was last seen when he walked out of his high school in Long Island City, Queens.
According to his family, Avonte is fascinated by trains. With this lead in mind, the NYPD continues to comb subway and Metro-North stations while handing out his picture.

Officers have taken their daily search to air and water as well. Avonte’s brother says there are hundreds of volunteers aiding in the effort to find the boy and it helps keep their family optimistic.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. A $70,000 reward is being offered for information that helps bring Avonte home.
