NY-based design firm Grzywinski + Pons was recently tasked with designing the newly opened Boro Hotel, located in the Dutch Kills neighborhood of Long Island City.
The boutique property boasts 108 guest rooms, studios and various public spaces, which blend modern minimalism and classic architecture with elements like scraped oak floors, painted pallet wooden paneling and leather, cork and sisal materials.
No room in the Boro Hotel is alike, many of which boast terraces or balconies. Each room features floor-to-ceiling windows, custom-designed furniture and coinciding light fixtures.
On the first floor, there’s a cafe bar, where guests can order coffee, cocktails, wine and food. There’s also plans for a ground floor restaurant and bar with a spacious terrace courtyard, as well as a rooftop bar with views of Manhattan and Queens.
