Silvercup Properties (yes, like the studio) is planning a building in Long Island City that would house 120 condos, The Real Deal reports. Called The Edison, the building will rise at 27-21 44th Drive, just around the corner from the Citigroup Tower, and the average unit would be just under 1,000 square feet. The plan also includes 6,780 square feet of retail space and 28 parking spaces. Silvercup bought the land last year for about $21 million.
According to TRD, the owners of Silvercup also wants to revisit plans for a a $1 billion expansion project that would include eight sound studios, a residential building with 1,000 units, commercial and retail space, and a parking garage. That development would be located in the no-man’s-land just south of the Queensboro Bridge.
