LONG ISLAND CITY, Queens – They didn’t win the billion-dollar Powerball crown jewel, but five lucky winners in New York are taking home $1 million.
According to the New York Lottery, five life-changing tickets were sold in Queens (3), Long Island (1) and Rockland County (1). They’re among the 73 second-prize winners sprinkled across the United States.
In New York, the winning tickets were sold at:
- 7-Eleven #21578 at 25 Stewart Ave. in Bethpage, N.Y.
- Good Lucky Charm Gift Shop Inc. at 6050 Myrtle Ave. in Ridgewood, Queens
- Pkg. Enterprises at 118-17 Liberty Ave. in Richmond Hill, Queens
- Plaza South Convenience and Grocery Store at 25-08A Queens Plaza South in Long Island City, Queens
- Stony Point Mini Mart at 104 West Main St. Route 9W in Stony Point, N.Y.
Victors were also reported New Jersey and Connecticut.
Lottery officials announced three tickets sold in Tennessee, California and Florida hit all five numbers plus the Powerball number to capture the estimated $1.6 billion jackpot.
The winning numbers in Wednesday night’s drawing are 4-8-19-27-34 and Powerball 10.
The winners can opt for annual payments over decades or a lump-sum payment.

None of the winners’ identities have been revealed yet.
The New York Lottery website said 79 third-place winners can claim $50,000.
