Police are searching for a 26-year-old woman who threatened to blow up a Long Island City manufacturing firm on May 19.
Police say Vernice Brown called the Propper Manufacturing Company on May 19, threatening to blow up the firm’s plant at 36-04 Skillman Avenue in Long Island City.
The owners alerted police and evacuated the building, while members of the NYPD Bomb Squad searched for an explosive device, police said. No device was found at that time, a police source said.
Brown sent an email to the company later that same day, again threatening to blow up the building, police said.
Police are seeking help from the public to determine Brown’s whereabouts and are urging anyone with information to call the CrimeStoppers HOTLINE at 1-800-577-TIPS or click on www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
The HOTLINE is offering a reward of up to $2,500 to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
