SUNNYSIDE, Queens — The death of a 5-month-old girl from the Sunnyside area of Queens is being investigated as a homicide, police said Tuesday.
Alia Baque was reported to be unconscious at an apartment at 39-20 Greenpoint Ave. Saturday around 8 a.m., police said. The location is centered in a quiet family neighborhood bordering Long Island City.
Responding officers discovered she was unconscious and unresponsive.
EMS transported the 5-month-old to Elmhurst General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Her death was deemed to be a homicide by the Medical Examiner’s Office on Sunday .
No arrests have been made and additional information was not immediately provided by police.
