In Long Island City’s crowded luxury condo scene, another building has launched sales. This time it’s a six-story building known as The Monarch, where prices start at $700,000. The 21,000-square-foot property features a mix of one, two, and three-bedrooms with the priciest one currently on offer a three-bedroom, two-bathroom unit with over 1,000-square-feet of space that’s asking $1.1 million.
Located at 47-05 5th Street, within the Hunters Point Historic District, the project is being developed by Newman Design Architecture, and was started when the 421-a tax abatement program was still alive and kicking.
Some of the standout features in the units include nine-foot tall ceilings, kitchens that come with oak wood cabinetry and Caesarstone countertops, and deep soaking tubs and rain head showers in the bathrooms. Amenities in the building include a gym, onsite parking, and a children’s playroom.
The development is just over a block away from the Long Island City waterfront, close to the iconic Pepsi Cola sign, and Gantry Plaza State Park. Sales and Marketing are being handled by Modern Spaces, and with construction almost complete, the first group of residents will be able to move in this fall.
