The first detailed renderings have been released for the new Court Square tower that, once built, will be the tallest building in the borough.
The new skyscraper at 23-15 44th Drive, called the Court Square City View Tower, will rise to 66 stories, dwarfing the nearby Citi tower at One Court Square, which is currently the tallest building in the borough at 50 stories tall.
After several varying plans for the height of the building since plans were filed in 2016, the finalized renderings show the building will have 66 floors with a total of 802 units. Architecture firm Hill West claims it will be the tallest building in Queens, taller than the Clock Tower development project that is expected to be about 70 stories.
The real estate website 6sqft. was first to report on the updated renderings.
The mixed-use tower will have retail on the first floor, and residential units in the floors above. It will feature panoramic views of Manhattan, with a pool on the third floor and a residents terrace on the fifth floor.
It will also have other amenities that are standard in luxury apartment buildings, including a gym, sauna, spa, and yoga room.
The exterior will be mostly glass, using neutral blue glass on the broad faces and clear green glass on the edges, giving the building depth.
The tower is currently being built and is expected to be finished by 2018.
