Queens’s erstwhile tallest tower has now launched leasing on its 974 apartments, a tip courtesy BuzzBuzzHome has revealed. Leasing on the market-rate units here follows just a few months after the lottery on the affordable apartments got underway in November last year.
Of the total apartments, 195 are affordable with rents starting at $913/month for a studio. As for the market rate units, rents range from $2,465/month for a studio spanning 463 square feet and go up to $4,695/month for a two-bedroom, two bathroom apartment spanning 1,097 square feet, among the currently available apartments on the development’s website.
Apartments at the Hayden, as the development is known, are offered in studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom variants, and some of the best features of the apartments include floor-to-ceiling windows, and a washer and dryer in every unit. It’s the massive offering of amenities though that really makes this development stand out among other rentals in Long Island City.
The long list includes a basketball court, a media room, a coffee bar, a multi-level fitness center, a yoga studio, a dog grooming center, and a rooftop lawn.
The Rockrose Development-led project is located at 43-25 Hunter Street, and has been making steady progress over the past year. The rental topped out in May last year, and later that year had mostly been clad in its glass facade.
At 535 feet, this SLCE Architects-designed building was once going to be Queens’s tallest tower—but that was way back in 2013, and where New York’s skyline is concerned, records tend to be broken every few months. The development currently gunning for the tallest building record is the 66-story Court Square City View Tower.
