The expansion of the Ravel Hotel in Long Island City also brings a new member to the neighborhood’s restaurant scene with the addition of Estate Garden Grill, a beer garden and restaurant.
Located at 8-08 Queens Plaza South, the hotel recently opened a 10-story tower which includes amenities that hotel guests and residents can enjoy. In addition to a 17,000 square foot ballroom, the tower will include a 24,000 square foot indoor/outdoor reception area and a rooftop pool. It will also double Ravel Hotel’s room count.
The outdoor restaurant offers a variety of options like grilled meats and seafood, sushi, crudo and an oyster bar. Headed by Executive Chef Seth Levine, the menu includes Ceviche, baha fish tacos, grilled skewers and lobster rolls. The Garden Bar features cocktails, white wine, rose and 15 types of beer on tap. The expansion will also allow Queens residents to utilize the hotel’s new rooftop pool. The 50 foot by 20 foot pool on the third floor is surrounded by a lawn “dotted by Bali-inspired daybeds and cabanas.” Guest DJs will provide music every day and guests can order from a food and beverage menu at the pool bar. Visitors can purchase a $50 day pass or reserve a pool cabana.
On the first floor, the new building will include the Estate Ballroom – a multipurpose space that can hold up to 400 guests. It features on-site catering, an outdoor patio and retractable walls. For weddings, the hotel offers bridal and groom suites that include two bedrooms, a kitchen, living room area and two bathrooms.
Estate Garden Grill is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and also includes a 10 course Prix-Fixe brunch menu.
