Herzog de Meuron’s undulating West Village condo is really beginning to look more and more like the renderings that first emerged last year. New construction site photos by Field Condition reveal that the 15-story is now almost entirely clad in its glass facade with just some work remaining on the roof. When we last checked in with the building earlier this year, the Ian Schrager-developed building had just about topped out.
All but a handful of the building’s 57 condos are in contract, and one of the penthouses here, asking $31.5 million, went into contract earlier this week. Construction is still on track to wrap up by the of the year.

What will be the costliest revamp undertaken by a public-private partnership in the United States is set to get underway in the Rockaways, Real Estate Weekly reports. A group of city and state agencies working with a developer have agreed to a $560 million rehabilitation of NYCHA’s Ocean Bay Apartments, located on Beach Channel Drive, between Beach 54th and 58th Streets in Far Rockaway. The complex comprises of 24 buildings, and 1,395 apartments, and sustained heavy damage during Hurricane Sandy.
This revamp will make it storm resilient, with the addition of flood walls, and water retention swales. In addition, the apartments’ kitchens and bathrooms will be renovated, and there will be several other infrastructural improvements as well including better lighting, heating, security, and fob key entry.

Prolific Brooklyn developer Adam America’s plans to bring an 11-story condo building were bolstered by the approval of a $98.5 million construction loan, The Real Deal reports. Adam America is partnering with China Vanke on the project, and together they’re planning to add 186 apartments to Long Island City’s ever-expanding housing stock.
The ODA New York-designed building will also feature a 5,000-square-foot retail space on the ground floor. The project came about after the developers acquired the site for $43.5 million in 2015. Construction on the condo building is expected to wrap by the end of 2019.

The project came about after Volunteers of America purchased the empty site in February this year for $3 million. The nonprofit’s work primarily focus on tackling issues of homelessness and domestic violence.
