Long Island City is getting thousands of new apartments in the next few years, but many of those—particularly in the high-rises that have sprouted along Jackson Avenue and throughout Hunters Point—are rentals, with comparatively few condos coming to market.
One of those condo buildings, however, is located at 22-18 Jackson Avenue, and is gearing up for a fall sales launch. In advance of that, the project—another partnership between the prolific Adam America Real Estate and Vanke US—has unveiled a teaser site, and its new name: Galerie. (Given that the teaser site prominently plays up the building’s location across from MoMA PS1, we’re assuming the name was inspired by the neighborhood’s artistic history.)
ODA New York is the architect for the project, which is rising next to its other LIC project at 22-22 Jackson Avenue. (That one, a rental building, currently has three apartments available, according to StreetEasy.) The first rendering for the building doesn’t reveal too much, though it will apparently offer “three distinct living experiences based on three different architectural styles.” (No word yet on what those are, exactly.)
Apartments will be split between studios, one-, two-, and three-bedrooms, and the interiors will be designed by Paris Forino, who’s all over the place these days, it seems. Amenities will be predictably posh, with a gallery space, landscaped courtyard, a pool, and a porte-cochère among the offerings. Pricing has yet to be revealed.
