EZ Pawn Corp at 35-04 Queens Plaza South

An EZ Pawn Corp has made its way to Long Island City, with a store near the Queensboro Plaza station set to open in two weeks time.
The store, located at 35-04 Queens Plaza South, is about 600 square-feet, according to Jason Kaminsky, owner and a member of the family that owns the chain. The store will sell jewelry and offer collateral loans on “pretty much everything”. If there are no construction delays, the store will open in about two weeks.
The store location was the former site of Maximus Lock Security, a short-lived locksmith shop. The site was vacant prior to, and was also the site of a 2013 car crash which killed an off-duty cop after her car flipped over a barrier rail off the Queensboro Bridge and crashed into the store.
The LIC store makes the 15th location for the pawn broking chain in New York City, with four already in Queens, including one in Sunnyside and another in Jackson Heights.
The Courtsquare blog was first to report that EZ Pawn would be opening at this location.
